Please could you tell us about your involvement with Grantley Sales & Lettings - how did you getinvolvedwith the company and what is your present role?
I have lived and worked in Guildford for over 20 years and knew the original directors of Grantley Sales & Lettings for most of that time.
My last job role covered 16 offices across the Prime Central London, South West London and Surrey areas. I was approached by Michael Parry-Jones to take over the reins of Grantley Sales & Lettings when Michael retired from the business. I took this as my opportunity to return home to work in the area I know and love so well. Working in the Surrey Hills is wonderful and I feel very privileged to serve the residents here.
What do you most enjoy about your job?
I like the varied nature of my job, no two days are ever the same. I could be valuing a Lutyens masterpiece one minute and asked to appraise a Grade II listed cottage the next. The type and style of clients' homes and their owners individual characters keep this role interesting. I also possess a deep-felt passion for architectural history as well as a love for the ultra-modern and country contemporary interior design styles.
Which moment in your career are you most proud of?
Many times throughout my career I have felt great pride, in the past this feeling revolved around witnessing the development and achievements of the people I managed. In more recent times, listing and selling Chinthurst Hill, Sir Edwin Lutyens and Gertrude Jekyll's first masterpiece which was recently restored to its former glory, was a fantastic achievement. This was a significant sale for the business and will remain one of my career highlights.
How long have you been a County Club member? Why did you become a member?
I only recently became a County Club member. I feel the club is perfectly positioned to not only offer a quiet meeting space in the centre of town, but also, and more importantly, it offers the opportunity to network with other members, which is something my business thrives upon.
What do you consider to be the benefits of being a member of the County Club?
The food is fabulous, the environment is calm and welcoming, and its easily accessible location - not far from the station and in the centre of town, makes it a great place to meet friends or business associates.
Call, email or use our online form to get in touch with The County Club. We will endeavour to respond quickly to your questions, enquiries about Club facilities and suggestions you may have.
